Austrian Ambassador to the Philippines Mag. Wilhelm Donko visits Tirol

In the last week of July the Austrian Ambassador in Manila Mag. Wilhelm Donko visited for 3 days Consul Dr.Christian Traweger in Innsbruck and Oberperfuss. During a dinner reception with Ambassador Donko future possibilities of cooperation with thePhilippines and the status of the Memorandum of Understanding between Tirol and the Philippines were discussed with the President of the Regional Assembly DDr. Herwig van Staa. As of now, the major cooperation is in the field of academe and universities. The Department of Political Science from the University of Innsbruck has a lively cooperation and student exchange with UP in Manila and USC in Cebu; the Management Center Innsbruck has a cooperation with Ateneo, UP and the leading institution in management education, the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Manila. Among other guests of that dinner reception were the former mayor of Oberperfuss and long time friend of the Philippines Mag.Ewald Spiegel and Mag.Florian Gottein from the Governors office, who himself studied also at UP in Manila. Beside this official dinner Ambassador Donko together with his wife Yan and his daughter Kathy visited historic places inInnsbruck, the mountain region Kühtai as well as the monastery of Stams, where the Abbot of the monastery prelate German Erd showed the famous church and other famous parts of the monastery.
